The National Collegiate Landscape Competition in 2010 was said to be the most fierce in its history; more than 1,000 future landscape architects participated in this competition. Having seen numerous authentic buildings in Tamsui County torn down and replaced by modern stores, I proposed the concept of having a “street museum” which would connect 32 traditional buildings with a circuitous pavement, forming “a historical complex”. This design will force commerce to reconcile itself with the symbolic soul of Tamsui and to take place under century-old buildings. The conflicts between economic development and landscape preservation now have a solution. It was this design which awarded me the “2010 Distinguished Collegiate Landscape Award” by the Taiwan Institute of Landscape Architects.

My short-term goal is to make my startup company the “Dale Carnegie” in the Taiwanese market of collegiate leadership training. In addition, given my learning experience with Taiwan’s Top 10 guitarist, debater and badminton player in the past two years, and those invaluable skills and inspirations I acquired from those virtuosos, I have become a thorough “disciple of the 80/20 principle”.
